Democrats refused to hire vets

Democrats hate the military. OK? The last Democratic presidential candidate with military experienced slandered the U.S. military as being as murderous as the army of "Genghis Khan."

So naturally, when Democrats got the White House in 2009, they put out the Veterans Need Not Bother to Apply signs.

From the Washington Times:
The Obama Justice Department discriminated against military veterans, trying to force them to withdraw their applications for two job postings — then canceling the postings altogether and rewriting the jobs to prevent the veterans from qualifying, a government watchdog said Wednesday.
Under federal law, veterans should have gotten preferential consideration for the two positions in the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program.
But Justice officials had their eye on non-veterans, and scheduled meetings off-site to try to force the veteran candidates to withdraw their applications, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel said.
The veterans refused to withdraw and human resources told the ICITAP hiring officials that they had to hire the veterans.
Intent on avoiding that, the ICITAP then canceled the initial job-postings and re-listed the jobs a year later, in 2016, with new qualifications that excluded the veterans, the OSC’s investigative report said.
Pretty sorry sight when the department that enforces civil rights ignores them.

The media is no better at hiring vets.

Which is why this story got so little space elsewhere.

On November 8, 2016, the American people said, "Trump the Establishment!"

Now read the book that explains how and why the press missed this historic the election.

It is available on Kindle, and in paperback.

And then read the original, "Trump the Press," which chronicled and mocked how the media missed Trump's nomination.

It is available on Kindle, and in paperback

  1. Of course Democrats hate veterans. Look at what they did to the Veterans Administration healthcare system. They are literally letting them die while waiting for healthcare. - Elric

  2. They tend to vote Republican. Need I say more.

  3. I didn't know this. Just more of the same SMH for the Obama regime and its legacy players. If our state had done something like that procedurally the mushroom clouds would still be hanging around.

It also looks like "they" are still "resisting" at the VA with all the Trump changes. Molar grinding worthy.

  4. Didn't the Beast find their presence in uniform "offensive"?

    1. Yes, and she treated them like the colored help. Like it's been said, ANY day without H. Rodham in the White House is a damn good day.

  5. Contemptible. We should impeach Obama post-facto for this honest-to-God Federal crime.

Only silver lining: This is one more reason why the military will join our side when the Second Civil War begins. If the Proggies think they'll get protection from our armed forces, they're crazier than even I woulda thunk.

    1. They are counting on protection from Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela etc. The purpose of gutting the military was to make them ineffective. Same reason they were going after Veteran's guns.

  6. I worked in recruitment/hiring for fifteen years starting in the mid-1990s and concentrated in federal civilian HR. I am a computer guy rather than an HR specialist, so I have since moved on to other things.

The anti-veteran bias in federal civilian hiring is pervasive and nasty across the entire federal government with the possible exception of the three service departments (Army, Navy and Air Force). Veterans--particularly disabled vets--are routinely referred to as "blockers" because of OPM's Veterans Preference rules that prohibit hiring non-vets or non-compensable vets over compensable veterans.

It was so bad in DoD's "fourth estate" (DoD agencies not belonging to a particular uniformed service) that one of the agency directors put out an official memo encouraging HR centers to extend VEOA consideration (different from Veterans Preference, but more applicable to fourth estate agencies because of their higher grade structures) to applicants to any DoD agency. He had to spell out that DoD is this country's veterans-producing department to shame people into doing so. This was around 2005 or 2006, during GWB's presidency.

Going back to the Veterans Preference rules that involve points, one of the biggest end runs around those rules was the Homeland Security Act of 2002 that was used to convert security guard positions to police officer positions across the federal government.

This used to make the news when we learned of events like raids by the Department of Education's SWAT team or bid solicitations for lethal military hardware by the Department of Agriculture. The silent side of this change was that it bypassed the long-standing law that any veteran within the locality who applies to a security guard position and meets eligibility requirements must be hired before non-veterans. This rule does not apply to police officer positions.

  7. Wasn't it at last year's DNC that the Democrats "celebrated" America's military by showing a picture of Polish troops? And didn't they once do the same during ☪ظ☭ma's '12 Re-coronation convention by showing a pic that turned out to be the Russian Navy?
